ABSTRACT: The role of early childhood education in cooperative learning is crucial for understanding how early educational experiences promote teamwork and collaboration among children. This study examines how early childhood education programs influence the development of cooperative learning skills. The objectives are to (1) assess improvements in children's ability to work collaboratively, (2) evaluate the integration of cooperative learning activities in early childhood education curricula, and (3) examine changes in children's social interactions and group problem-solving abilities. A survey design is employed to gather comprehensive data on the role of early childhood education in cooperative learning. A purposive sample of 120 children  from preschools in Delta State was used. The case study focuses on a preschool known for its cooperative learning program. Findings revealed significant improvements in children's ability to work collaboratively, the effectiveness of cooperative learning activities, and positive changes in children's social interactions and group problem-solving abilities. Recommendations included integrating cooperative learning activities into early childhood curricula and providing ongoing professional development for educators to support children's cooperative learning development.
